The Impact Of Shift Work On Health

Two Ways to Think of Health

I think Americans are overly passive about their wellbeing. Fantastic health can only be achieved and preserved by mindful deeds. These deeds require planning and disciple. Examples include exercising regularly and vigorously, dining in ways that nourish the causing difficulties and otherwise behaving in optimistic, lively ways.

The degree of wellness you will enjoy is clearly affected by your lifestyle choices. Your health status is based to a fantastic extent on if you invest in your wellbeing or not. If you make little if any such investments, then your wellbeing will be dependent on chance, genetics, the aging process and the timeliness of this caliber of medical care you get.

If, on the other hand, you do invest, if you seek, protect and defend an innovative state of well being, the character of the health condition you will have will be radically different – and better.

Thus, we need to distinguish both of these types of health situations – one passive, one active.

The Institute of Health report that places America last reflects that segment of America that is passive. If the very modest segment of the American population that practices active health were separated, in case their health statistics were accumulated and compared, I am convinced we would be #1.

For these and related reasons, I propose we see health in two distinct ways – by making a distinction between static health – which is how most perspective and approach their wellbeing, and earned wellbeing. The latter is what you get when you invest wisely in your own well being.

It’s a way of life that I call REAL wellness.

Most think of wellbeing in far less hurtful manners. Most believe they are well if they are not sick. This is pathetic. It equates without needing immediate medical attention. For the huge majority, this is a”good enough” perspective of health. Thinking that way is a self-fulfilling prophesy. It means that not wholesome is the best you can hope for. This is the static definition of health and it must be reformed and accompanied by another, comparison perspective for those Americans willing to do their role. That would be earned health.
